Banal Films

Banal Films is the figment of an idea, born of a thought, formed by Sam Icklow and Miska Mandic in the infancy of their university careers. An umbrella under which they could create a wide variety of works which were held together only by a shared aesthetic passion, but limitless in scope and range.

At Banal Films, it’s hard to say what we are or what we aren’t. It’s hard to determine what our mission statement or 'vision' is. Because that would imply a single vision.

We believe in changing our minds, we believe in chasing the aesthetic dream, we believe in flights of fancy. But most importantly we believe that the biggest moments of our lives are often the smallest. And we believe that even the moments that aren't all that special deserve to be seen.
